Now that winter is here and my skin is getting a bit drier and needing more TLC than usual, I like to use a face mask once a week as a bit of a treat for both me and my skin. That got me to thinking if a face mask is something I should be using at least once a week as part of my normal beauty ritual, instead of just during winter.
I did a bit of reading and discovered that a face mask is actually an essential part of the cleansing programme and should be done 1-2 times a week no matter what the weather. A face mask is necessary as it extracts impurities from below the uppermost layers of skin.
A really great face mask will actually unblock your pores and get rid of dead skin cells to leave your skin glowing and radiant. Your other skin care products will actually work much better if you keep up the routine of using a face mask (and scrub) a couple of times a week.
Here are some face masks I love:
Honey & Oat 3 in 1 scrub mask from my favourite place, The Body Shop. This one is a real timesaver as it cleans, polishes, and moisturises all in one.
Elizabeth Arden’s 5 minute Ceramide Boosting Facial is my latest discovery (thanks BB!). This product allows you to get the effects of a facial in the comfort of your own home. This one comes with a mask and a serum and literally gives INSTANT results.
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Overnight Mask is an absolute must if you have really dry, parched skin. This mask helps to replenish lost moisture and helps skin to lock in moisture. You wake up to healthy glowing skin the next day.
So, if you haven’t already included a mask in your weekly beauty routine, those are some suggestions of what to try. Do you use a mask and which one is your favourite?
