While Miley made us bored, other stars were a delight to look at. Here’s the Beauty Bulletin teams list of the Top looks from the VMA’s 2014.
Gwen Stefani: Gwen opted out of wearing her signature red lipstick at the bash and instead wore a bubblegum pink to perfectly compliment her two tone black and pink outfit. Abiding by the biggest beauty rule, Stefani kept her eye make-up to a minimum and her hair styled in a retro-do.
Victoria Justice: Slicked back hair was the order of the day at the VMAs with the actress sporting a sleek ponytail. She livened up her look by coating her lips in a fun fuschia hue.
Jordin Sparks: The singer has grown up in the style stakes and her look at the VMA’s didn’t disappoint. Middle partings are big at the moment, with Kim K even wearing her hair in this simple style for her wedding to Kanye West. To match her dress Sparks kept her make-up simple, clean and chic.
Iggy Azalea: The rapper is leading the way for ghetto glam. Rocking 70s style slicked back hair, Azalea kept her make-up to a minimum so as to not draw attention away from her intricate dress.
Here’s how to get Iggy’s hair:
Apply a heat defence spray to freshly washed hair. Blow dry your hair in sections, using a paddle brush. Take the top section of your hair and tease it gently at the roots. Brush your hair back, away from your face using a paddle brush and finish the look with a spritz of hair spray.
Demi Lovato: Lovato proved that undercuts can look elegant. To soften her hairstyle she curled the longer strands of her hair and accessorised the bombshell look with juicy red lips to add the va-va voom factor to her plunging red dress.
Jennifer Lopez: If you could draw your eyes away from 40-something Lopez’s banging bod you’d notice she opted for her fail safe beauty look; a glowing tan, shimmering blonde highlights and neutral make-up. This woman knows what works for her and sticks to it and the results are wonderful.
