One of the biggest colour trends we’ll be seeing this year is purple! The autumn/winter 2015 runways were jam-packed with models bathed in lavenders and lilacs. We, however, foresee this purple trend transcending into inspiring nail colours and vibrant lipsticks!

For the eyes, we love the MAC A Passion Quest eye shadow quad (R430 at selected MAC Cosmetic counters nationwide). Three of the four eye shadow pans offer a shimmery finish while the palest of the hues is matte, a perfect option for highlighting the brow bone. 

You could go for dramatic and smokey with Stay Sultry and Brazenly while Serenade and The Wrong Man will offer you a more subtle, feminine look.

When it comes to nails, the opportunities are endless. With intricate nail art designs or simple manicures, you can use bright shades of indigo and violet to draw attention to your hands. Let your lips do all the talking with a stand out lip colour this January! For a vibrant purple, we are obsessed with MAC Lipstick in Heroine (R195 at selected MAC Cosmetics counters nationwide). This beauty was once Limited Edition but has since become a permanent find at MAC stores! For a more subtle purple, we love the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Grandest Grape (R230 at selected Clinique Counters). The Chubby Stick is a firm favourite as it offers a soft cushion of colour that meets sheer and opaque smack-dab in the middle.
