BEHIND THE BULLETIN: DOVE’S LATEST LAUNCH

Given a chance to choose between two doors when entering a room, which would you pick? Now imagine one of those doors was labelled “average” and the other, “beautiful”. Now which would you choose?

This year, Dove International launched a global campaign that seeks to encourage women to #ChooseBeautiful. The campaign video that quickly went viral, shows that most women would sooner walk through a door labelled “average”, than a door labelled “beautiful”.

At the Dove launch held in the beautiful suburb of Constantia I recently attended, the Dove team persuaded us to participate in a similar exercise. On a white board we were prompted to write down what we considered our biggest flaws, and on the opposite side, a way in which we could see those same flaws as something positive. After a moving afternoon of like-minded women sharing personal stories of struggle and growth, I left knowing that I would remember the day for a very long time.

And the cherry on top of a beautiful afternoon? I won a lovely Dove hamper containing an array of much-needed hair- and skincare products.
