Clinique Pep-Start™ Eye Cream

Another new addition to my skincare collection and a very welcome one at that.

I really like the consistency and feel of this product. The tiniest amount goes the longest way. So, you are really getting your money's worth.

This formula is so fast absorbing, hydrating and comfortable. It does not interfere with your concealer except for helping it apply better.

I don't really have major dark circles or puffiness, so I really cannot comment on that, but I do feel that this product de-stresses.

I am very eager to continue using this eyes cream and I will update you on any changes. So far so good though...

The Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream comes in a 15ml tube which contains quite abit of product seeing that you would only use a small amount, it is a 100% fragrance free and suitable for all skin types. I like the packaging, it is a bright orange plastic tube with a see through lid.  It has a ball applicator which you open by popping the ball tip up, squeeze a small amount of the product onto the ball tip and roll onto the eye area. There are instructions on the side of the box showing how to pop the ball tip.

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream claims to instantly brighten and hydrate eyes and give you a wide awake refreshed look in just three seconds. This is what really got me excited about this product, who doesn't want refreshed wide awake looking eyes in just three seconds especially for those days when you did not get much sleep and need to be up bright and early.

The instruction pamphlet instructs that you can apply the cream as often as you like as you would "crave the cool touch and de-puffing tip". I have been using the eye cream as I would any other eye cream by applying it twice a day in the morning and at night. The ball applicator does not work so well, you can not use it to roll the product onto your eye area and the ball is quite big and does not have any movement so I have not experienced any de-puffing tip and effect. I also expected to get a rush or cooling effect when applying the cream as this is the only way that your eyes will feel refreshed and this is what the product states but to my disappointment there was no cooling effect and I did not have a wide awake refreshed feeling in just three seconds, unfortunately no fireworks there ?.

But on the up side the cream is smooth and hydrating. I do like the bright packaging and the popping of the ball applicator is different. The cream is very hydrating and I found that I only need a small amount as it spreads quite easily. I find it better to apply using your finger tips as this gets the product properly absorbed into the skin rather than using the ball applicator as it does not spread the product evenly and does not get the product into the skin. After three weeks of use I did notice a little difference, my under eyes are much lighter and brighter but there is still puffiness.

I think the product would work better if the ball applicator was smaller and rotated and if there was really a cooling effect. But overall I really like the eye cream itself, it is not harsh on my skin and I have seen a change, I would definitely recommend it and would probably purchase it.

I purchased this a few weeks online. The heat here is unbearable and it could have affected the product. I usually love Clinique products but this did nothing for me.
Pros: Compared to other eye creams at Sephora...this was much cheaper.
Con's: The plastic ball tip was weird. I prefer the metal applicators. The product burned a bit. I did not notice any brightening or depuffing. I now have milia under my eye. I have really sensitive skin though and this probably works well for other people. I also had this shipped to me at an average temperature of 100degrees F.

Can an eye cream really make you look “wide awake” even if you haven’t slept or gotten your full eight hours of sleep?? That is what Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream claims to do and I had to put it to the test and have a girl’s night out knowing I would have to be up at 6am and get ready for work the next day.

The first thing I love about this eye cream is packaging!! I always say I am a sucker for nice things and the Clinique Pep-Start packing is amazing!! The product is housed in an opaque/orange plastic squeeze tube with a plastic see-through cap, and it has a ball-tip applicator. When I first looked at it, I was a little confused and I realised dispensing it is just a snap (pop the ball tip applicator up {instructions are included on the packaging} and squeeze the desired amount). You need to use the ball applicator to spread the eye cream on which gives it a cooling effect.

I actually like the cream. It is lightly emollient and it glides on with ease and feels and leaves your eyes instantly hydrated. I have oily skin, so some people who have the same skin care issues as me might be a little scared to use it but TRUST ME it will give you that “OOMPH” you need for your 8am meeting and I think all skin types will appreciate the light hydration the formula provides (especially in winter)! It sinks into the skin easily without feeling sticky afterwards AND it works well under other skincare beauty products or makeup… (Bet you didn’t see that one coming)!!!

Since we are still speaking about formula, Pep-Start eye cream is fragrance-free and includes some great moisture-retaining ingredients, such as glycerine, dimethicone, butyrospermum parlii (shea butter) and squalane. What I love the most about this product is that it also includes some ingredients that help improve the appearance of the skin in the eye area when it comes to SIGNS OF AGING!! I always say…it is better to prevent than to fix; so if you are in your mid-late 20’s this is going to be your HOLY-GRAIL when it comes to signs of aging around your eyes.

So did the Clinique Pep-Start eye cream give me that instant pep I needed in the morning after my crazy night out with the girls??YES…I wouldn’t say my eyes were de-puffed in 30 seconds, but I would definitely say it has enough good going for it that it comes highly recommend and getting my highest rating for an eye cream.

Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t see the difference in 3 seconds BUT I definitely saw the difference after 3-5 minutes. I would say apply the eye cream 5 minutes before you get to work to see full and proper results.
Other than that, Clinique Pep-Start eye cream is a good investment ladies!! It's packaging, texture, and let’s not forget the beneficial ingredients make this eye cream a “Peppy Recommendation”!!
