Led by Dr Melanie Gerolemou, SCULPT, Aesthetic & Wellness clinic in Sea Point, offers a host of beauty treatments for all kinds of skin conditions:
- Acne & Acne and acne scaring
- Dark Circles and puffiness
- Pigmentation
- Rosacea
- Sun Damage
- Skin Rejunevation
- Volumising, sculpting and contouring
- Wrinkles
A personalized consultation is recommended, where treatment options can be discussed. These might include AHA peels, Micro Needling, Carboxy Therapy, Mesotherapy, Fillers and Botox. In a chat with Dr Gerolemou, I was pleased to hear her say that she is very conservative when it comes to administering especially botox and fillers, as she feels that it is being overdone in many cases. I very much agree – you can take care of all your skincare, and specifically anti-ageing concerns, without looking like you belong on an American reality show. Skincare lines used are Filorga, Neostrata and Heliocare.
Body-wise, Aldo Botha has more than 10 years experience in the sport sector – he combines personal training with nutritional advice for optimum results. If your problematic areas need additional attention, you can also consider the aesthetic body treatments offered by Dr Gerolemou. Sculpt also offers completely customized packages dependent on your personal goals, which can combine fitness, aesthetics and medically assisted weight loss.
If you simply need to vegetate and regroup, Sculpt also has a magnificent floatation pool with colour and sound therapy (R300 per session). I was very chuffed that it is not a floatation capsule, but an open pool in a private room (see picture) – the capsules have been known to give some people serious claustrophobic issues. 20 minutes in a floatation pool is compared to four hours of sleep – sounds heavenly!
The most innovative thing I spotted, was the virtual 3D ‘room’. You put on a pair of 3D glasses, pick a tranquil setting of your choice, and you relax in a bubble chair after a treatment or training session. Very excited to try this out and will definitely review as soon as I have.
Dr Gerolemou holds an MBChB, has been practising for 14 years and is registered with the ABAARM (American Board of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine). Aside from the aesthetic beauty treatments on offer, she also offers full GP services including executive medical assessments.
