Really impressed with the feel of this on my lips .No stickyness .Really moisturising and nourishing. Love the smell too .so yummy .This was a good buy .
I have two shades of these glosses:
100 Just Plum Good - Plum
600 Blooming Balm- Light pink
I felt these glosses applies easily and is sheer but noticeable. It makes my lips feel softer even after the gloss has worn out. These glosses nourish the lips with oils like avocado and vitamin E. I also loved that it was not sticky like other glosses. It has a faint scent of Vanilla but it fades away quickly. Great lasting power.
Available in 10 amazing shades.
With winter approaching fast I have to say this will be in bag for sure. I love these glosses and I think it’s a winner from Almay.
I got this in a buy one get one free offer.one is so bright pink in the tube so as to be almost like a fluorescent pink highlighter.the other is a deep winey red.at R110 for both i got no complaints.the formula is applied with a small wand that needs several dips to cover the full lip area.it smells faintly sweet.the pink colour is actually soft on application n will suit most skin tones.the wine is deep n gorgeous and nice for anyone wanting to try a deep colour but not wanting a full on solid wine mouth.the longevity is barely 2 to 3 hours and i feel this is best worn over a lip pencil for longevity or a handbag item for touch ups or gym.its comfortable but not really the best colour gloss ive used
My weakness is lipsticks of any kind and form because if there's one thing I love about my face, its definitely my lips lol ..I found this lip color in a sleek red shade and its actually a combination of a lip balm and a gloss ... So u get the benefit of a balm that is sooo conditioning to the lips and the sheerness of a gloss :) Contains vitamine E oils and avocado providing both hydration and nourishment for lips. An added bonus is that it doesn't cost much at all :D ..
I really like this pretty light weight option from Almay, the lipgloss/lipbalm smells great and provides a perfect sheer wash of colour for your lips. Plus it is super hydrating.

I haven’t been the greatest of fans of Almay and I partly blame their lack of riveting advertising and complimentary gifts to my lack of interest in their products. This notion has changed ever so slightly, ever since I saw their advert and read about the awesomeness of their new Care Liquid Lip Balm.
I remember seeing a very pouty Kate in my latest Cosmopolitan when I passed the Almay stand at Dischem about a month ago, I have to admit curiosity got the better of me and I found myself making an impulse purchase. I’m not a gloss or balm person and feel if I should be using any lip product it either be lipstick or my SoftLips. But I saw a beautiful shade through the glass tube and immediately knew that this was one gloss or balm that had to be tried, at R79.95 it wasn’t such a hefty investment and so I happily and eagerly picked up a bottle and headed to the tills.
This isn’t like any balm I’ve ever used before! A wonderful and unusual blend that’s a fusion of a gloss, balm and stain. It leaves lips with a subtle hint of colour which quickly develops into a long lasting shade. The colour I chose is a rosey reddish light pink that blends so well with my own lip colour. It’s romantic and soft and brings just the right amount of girly class to any look. I love using this colour during the evening for an un-expected contradiction to an edgy or punked outfit. The more layers you put on, the deeper the hue gets; it starts to build up on lips almost like a barrier of colour. In the accompanying photos I’ve used 1, 2 and 3 coats respectively.
The balm is infused with lip-loving ingredients that instantly hydrate, firm, plump, moisturize and soften lips. It’s a great blend of colour and has a subdued shine that isn’t as glaring as a gloss. The formula is not sticky or tacky but does catch straying hair and is easily transferred onto clothing and glasses. Even when the balm begins to fade, the effects of its ingredients are still felt. The balm claims that it moisturizes for 8 hours! , this I find is a bit of an understatement; I find the effects last much, much longer.
The packaging isn’t very grand but makes enough of a simple impact to get me hooked on their product. Almay have nothing to hide and are so proud of this product that there was no need to hide the product within its packaging. I love how clean, elegant and refined the circular clear glass tube is. It allows you an easy view of the colour you’re purchasing which honestly goes on exactly as you see it. The colours are rich and vibrant in the bottles and look like yummy candy on the shelf. The lids are a dark grey and house the lip applicator which is white. The right amount of balm comes off onto the applicator every time.
I especially love that there is no glitter in this! I don’t like the idea of having sparkly lips and appreciate this caring and gentle sweep of sophisticated and true colour. I will definitely be following in Almay’s ad for the balm and am going to “Flaunt my luscious side” I might even consider leaving my comfort zone and going for a bolder choice of their 10 shades. . . HHHmmmmm Kate better watch her back, I’m puckering up quite pretty myself thanks to Almay.
I like colour, but not too much of a glossy look. So normally I’d put on lipstick, then a few spots of lipgloss just for shine. I chose to buy a bright colour so that I could wear it through till summer. I like the shimmer that I was getting from the lip colour, however the brightness of the colour didn’t impress me. The texture of the gloss has a nice smooth finish where my lips don’t chap or get dry.
The one thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the smell. It smells like vanillas chocolate everytime I use it. Yummy!
The colour is VERY subtle, so if it looks bright… Test it, it probably aint as bright as it appears. Even though the colour is subtle, it doesn’t last very long.
This is a fun product to try, it has a great smell, and works well as a day to day product as it is quite sheer so if you would like a hit of colour wash rather than full on colour then this is the product to use.
It goes on well and is not very sticky or goopy, and lasts quite long too, my lips feel a lot softer and smoother after use but I guess that is the balm side of the product working. I like to use this over lipstick for a bit of gloss with hint of colour. I got the Apricot Pucker shade and it is quite a popping colour for winter and into summer.
The idea behind this product is to be a lipgloss and lipbalm in one. I love the simplistic look of it.
There is a little linger of vanilla candy floss when you open it up that makes it a little playful. The gloss glides on really smooth and evenly and is more of a sheer lipgloss with a light but very flattery shine.
This particular shade looked so bright in the bottle and I thought it would look horrid on me, but the sheerness makes it wearable and the pink is rather pretty with my olive skin. The doe foot applicator is small though and carries very little product so I need to dip in 2 or 3 times.
The gloss stays put for about 2 hours only, however the moisturising effect stays much longer. Its really comfortable on your lips the entire time you are wearing it, its not too sticky and not super slippery either. I love that I feel no need to use any type of balm (or even my coconut oil) on my lips when I’m using this, and that after the colour fades my lips still feel soft.
Almay color + care is available in 10 shades, I really want to try the deep wine red looking shade next. Almay is also cruelty free!
I’m not a huge lip gloss fan. I think soft shine or sheen looks great, but super shiny lips are not for me. I prefer lipsticks or just a simple lip balm which is why I am super excited about this product it’s the marriage of a lip gloss and lip balm which I have never seen before. This is a new formula that combines the pigment and shine of a gloss with the hydrating and moisturizing properties of a balm. It’s made with avocado oil, vitamin E, beeswax, and sunflower oil. The small sponge doe-foot applicator makes this product easy to apply to the lips. The product glides easily on my lips, and the applicator makes it easy to get around the edges of the lips. The shade #900 apricot pucker is a nice coral. Pigmentation is on the sheer side however does give my lips a very noticeable peach tint. The balm has a light vanilla scent which I find pleasant and not overpowering. It’s very light weight, moisturizing and the formula isn’t sticky or tacky it’s thick and almost gel-like and it feels more like balm than gloss, on the lips it feels like it sinks into the lips well. Due to the formula being so thick it lasts much longer than a lip gloss and wears down gradually. It offers a soft sheen rather than a high shine finish. It continues to moisturize long after the gloss has worn off leaving my lips feeling moisturized and lush. Overall I am very impressed with not only the staying power but the moisturizing properties as well.
