Avon Eyeshadow Duo

I know I was supposed to do a video review but i cant bring myself up to it. belsposy has left a big scar, though the scar is more emotional than physical. im also remembering my aunt who was a devoted avon representative & had a lot of customers. She met her untimely death when they came back from her in laws i the rural areas. Whats eve more sad about this is the fact that they lost their lives in front of their kids. i hope avon never forgets her. She was known to everyone as TSALA. May her soul rest in peace

I was sent both the "Healthy Glow" and the "Teal Attitude" Avon True Colour Duo's to try out along with "Apple Cinnamon" and "Rave" Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss.

Initially, I did not have high hopes as it is hard to find a good eyeshadow that does not leave creases after only a few hours and that can be applied effortlessly and evenly.

The packaging is fantastic as it is the perfect size to pop into any handbag and the mirror that is made part of the box is super handy! My first reaction was to check the applicators that were in each of the boxes because noting annoys me more than trying to apply your eyeshadow and just as you get it just right, the sponge head falls off of the applicator and you land up with smudged makeup and a eyeshadow line down your cheek and on your lap! In Avon's case, the applicator is secure and even if you tug on the sponge, you can immediately see that it isn't going anywhere! Double thumbs up in my book!

The eyeshadow I found to be really lovely colours that lasted in any situation. With it getting warmer, it was nice to have the piece of mind that even when stuck in the smoldering heat in a traffic jam or at an evening event after a full day's work, creases were not going to be an issue.

The eyeshadows are a bit light when you apply them so it takes a tiny bit more effort to get it as dark as I would normally like. I am sure they are trying to cater for all markets and I know more than a few ladies that dont like their eyeshadow too heavy but this does mean a little more time is needed for all who prefer their eyeshadow to be more noticeable.

The shades themselves are very versatile and make fantastic shades for both day and night time wear. Teal Attitude is great for summer while Healthy Glow is so beautifully natural and earthy.

I lead a very busy lifestyle and it was fantastic to have a product keep up with me. I loved the fact that it was so amazingly effortless to make the transition between day and night with only a small palate and no bulky boxes to be hauled around. All that was needed was a little eyeliner and mascara (I invested in Avon's Glimmerstick Eyeliner & SuperExtend Extreme Mascara of course) and DONE!

Unfortunately, I could not use the Lipglosses as they made my lips itch and burn HOWEVER, most lipglosses have this effect on me and only a rare few can I use :(. The colours were absolutely gorgeous though and would look great with or without a lipstick base. They also appeared to apply beautifully. I cant comment on their "lastability" etc sadly but what I was able to try out, if you arent someone like me who battles in general with lipglosses, I think it looks like a lovely product!

Now all that there is to do is to buy a smaller makeup bag for my handbag and a bigger makeup BOX for home! (oh, and a camera that doesnt break the day before submitting a Beauty Bulletin Review haha!)

last night was my hubby's bday n we went out. it was nice busy. we danced n ate n ate n danced. The point Im trying to make is tht these eyeshadows r th best, compact easy to apply n thy stay on longer. Im definately buying myself other colours.but purple will remain my favourite

I received two Avon Eyeshadow Duo palettes to try out - Ocean Waves and Healthy Glow.

The first thing that I noticed was the stunning packaging. The Eyeshadow Duos come in an elegant black box with matt finish and feel fresh and upscale.

Once one opens the beautiful black box, one immediately notices the gorgeous glossy square compact with curved sides. The inside of the compact houses a convenient mirror, the two eyeshadow shades, and the eyeshadow applicator.

I loved the two shades of Healthy Glow - a lovely natural palette of nude and dark brown that create a stunning natural look when paired with black liner and mascara.

I must admit that I was quite skeptical of the shades in Ocean Waves - I usually stick to the natural tones - but once applied the colours made my blue eyes pop! Although I wouldn't wear it as an everyday look, it is great for going out, especially with lashings of mascara :)

The eyeshadow was easy to apply to my eyelids and had good coverage. The colour lasted quite well, even as the temperatures started rising and the weather became warmer. I didn't notice any build-up of excess in the creases, which I find is the case with quite a few other eyeshadows that I have tried out. I also didn't get any fall-out on my cheeks - another big plus!

Pros:

Cons:
- once applied, the colour could be a bit brighter

All in all, I loved testing out the Avon Eyeshadow Duo and had a lot of fun creating looks with it. I would buy them again for sure and would definitely recommend to a friend.
