This product definitely adds shine however I would've liked a bit more shine. My boyfriend also used it and seemed to like it too. I like that even though it's helping reduce oilinesss it doesn't look dry and adds shine. It helps for days that you've already had product build up and added a lot of oil to your curls. I used it when I didn't want to use more curly products but also didn't want to wash yet.
