Valentine’s Day is a time for love, cheesy gifts and cliché dates. It is also a time where we can get away with being really corny with our fashion sense and make up looks. Here is a cute Valentine candy nail art design that is simple enough to do at home.

Start off with a thin base coat to protect your natural nails from staining. Choose 5 pastel shades of polish and paint each finger a different colour. The colours I used (from left to right) are;

Essence’s “Lime up!”Tip Top’s “Fantasy”, Essence’s “Wanna be your sunshine”, Tip Top’s “Cha cha cha” and Tip top’s “Melting Marshmallow”.

After applying two coats of each polish, I waited for them to dry completely and painted on my letters. I used white acrylic paint but any white polish will give the same effect. Lettering is actually any easy thing to paint onto your nails if you have the right technique. I suggest using a toothpick or dotting tool to, literally, paint the letters on in sweeping motions.
Words like, kiss me, I love you, be mine and other messages are perfect!

After everything is dried, you can apply your top coat to seal in your design and add a beautiful shine.
