I would say I have a lot of medium thickness, wavy hair. On the oily-dry spectrum it tends to the dry side of normal as I have always had issues with split ends and frizz. Basically I want hair care products to leave my hair soft and luscious to the touch and shiny to look at with no frizz. CHI (Catinonic Hydration Interlink) Keratin Mist by Farouk Systems is a leave in spray that promises to do all that whilst it strengthen and protects your hair. I really put CHI Keratin Mist to the test as I used a product which left my hair very dry and crunchy. I can honestly report that the mist did wonders as my hair is super soft and has a good shine. Unfortunately it will not help the split ends already there but, I do feel it did help to prevent further damage to the tips of the hair strands. I believe the Keratin Mist did strengthen my hair and improve its elasticity and thus preventing it from breaking mid length.
The only thing I do not like about the CHI Keratin Mist is the smell. Why do many hair products have that nasty smell? It shouldn’t be from harsh chemicals as CHI Keratin Mist is paraben free and Farouk Systems strives to create a safer work environment for stylists and by proxy you and your hair as well. At least I only have to put up with the offending smell whilst applying it as it can easily be masked by a spritz of fragrance.
R 195 for a bottle may not sound cheap but keep in mind it is a chubby 355 ml bottle and you only need a few sprays. I believe this makes CHI Keratin Mist by Farouk Systems well worth its price tag. One word of warning this is a protein treatment and should be used sparingly and not too often otherwise it may weigh your hair down.
The bottle of CHI Keratin Mist was part of the hair product hamper I received from Beauty Bulletin for my hair care posts and comments on the Beauty Exchange Board
