Glory Henna Hair Dye

The hair dye comes in a very economically priced packet but you need to have gloves of your own to protect it from dye stains. It is available even at many house shops.

Henna dye is a better alternative to hair dyes with peroxides. It does not damage my hair, on the contrary it makes it feel much softer and stronger. The dye does not colour the hair dramatically but it is a noticeable difference.

I suffered no drying effects and it washed out after a few washes.

I have used the product in the past to dye and treat my hair. Although it does not contain any chemicals, it does have a tendency to dry my hair out.

However, instead of using water to prepare the henna, try mixing it with your favorite conditioner, an egg, tbsp coconut oil and some lemon juice!

Also, this is a very cheap method to get some color in your hair! One packet of henna will cost you less than R 10 at a cosmetic shop!

Please note that if you have dark hair and you try red henna on your hair, you might not see the difference. Direct sunlight might show slight color in your hair.

This is a henna hair dye method which is much better for your hair health in comparison to a box dye (which has a lot of chemicals that open up the hair shaft and thus dries it out)

It has the staying power of a sort of stain and by that I mean, the more you wash your hair, the faster the colour will fade.

As other people commented, it is a very messy dying method as it is a powder consistency that you mix with a liquid that goes everywhere. But it makes up for it in terms of the price, because it is very cheap . It is about +- R15 from any indian grocery shop such as Gorimas etc.

I use to use the chestnut shade and although less messier than the black I stopped using it .It did give my hair a nice shine and healthy feel but I just could not handle the mess and all the extra effort it rinsing it off a countless times . If you have patience then I would recommend this.

Used this on numerous occasions. Just make sure you have latex gloves because it doesn't come with plastic/latex gloves. It feeds my hair and adds extra shine. It lasts for quite some time before you have to re-do or touch-up. Very effective.
Leave it on for more than 30mins. Let the product get dry on your hair.
Rinse, rinse, rinse...until the water runs clear. It can be a messy, so make sure you wearing an old t-shirt.

I absolutely adore this product but find it a little messy. The colour is vibrant and the formula leaves your hair in a better than ever condition. I have used the black for years before trying out the red. The only thing about Henna is that once you colour your hair with it, you can't remove it. You have to grow it out of your hair. Other than that, it's a great alternative, really great for your hair and at R5 a packet, it leaves some extra cash in your wallet too!
