Fishtail styles are also known as herringbones and have always been very unique and distinct in their appearance because they look so similar to a fish skeleton. This type of hair style is stunning and sophisticated and can add some glam style to your summer beach outfit or to that sexy cocktail dress.
Let’s get started on this quick and easy fishtail look:
Always start by backcombing the hair at the crown and root to Create that extra volume, you can use Ghds new and improved total volume mousse this creates soft but lasting volume and fullness in all hair types and it contains the Ghd Heat Protection System, Best for adding that all over body to your style and it creates great root lift and gives amazing fullness to finer hair types.
Brush through and bring all the hair to one side of the head, then separate the hair into two equal sections, try to make it equal.
Take a small piece of hair from the outer side of your sections of hair and cross it over to the join the other section of hair.
Try to do the same for the other side, make sure that the piece is from the outer side of the section and that you do a cross over technique left to right and continue.
Continue to do this by pulling the hair tight to keep it in place do this slowly and efficiently.
When the fishtail is complete to the bottom of the hair, fasten with small tight elastic and make sure that it is secure. Remember you want this style to be in place and not to fall out.
When the fish tail is secure, pull pieces of the hair away from the fishtail and around the face to help frame and add texture to the look, you don’t have to do this if you are looking for a tighter look.
Finally add some Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray into your hands and smooth over the fishtail to add texture and set in place. This product is great for finishing off any hairstyle and makes any look last for longer.
