I absolutely LOVE is product. It looks funky. It glides on, it's long lasting. This is the first thing I put on when I'm putting on makeup, it's prep for my lips. There is a flavor for everyone and a color for every outfit!
Read about this amazing Maybelline Baby Lips electro product from one of my favourite blog Pink Peonies. I decided to go and get myself one at my local clicks and to tell you its very affordable and its amazing! Its a girl Must have as it keeps my lips so soft. So far I got myself berry bomb and will definitely go and get more of different colours. Must have for beautyones!
The Peach Kiss is my absolute every day must have! I use it in my make up looks...it hydrates my lips and gives me a lovely peach tint! I don't need anything else for my lips at all :)
I first bought this 3 years ago when I was in Australia in the summer. It was a lifesaver in those super hot summer days. I normally have dry, chapped lips but this really moisturized my lips and made then super soft. I love the fragrances too. They taste good but aren't sweet so I'm not tempted to lick it off or something.
I was soo excited when I found these again the other day here In South Africa.
I definitely recommend these babies ;)
I love these balms! I have a few of them lying around everywhere! My favourite is definitely the BabyLips Electro Range. I love how they Hydrate your Lips and give a bright pop of Colour without being over the top. Perfect for work too!
This little roll up is a Godsend to someone who has really awful lips like me. I literally apply it 20 times a day if not more.
It smells great and the Cherry variant that I have and love has a slight tint to it so I don't waddle around looking bare after I have eaten off all my lip colour.
I love the packaging of the lip balms, it's fun and youthful. As for it's effectiveness, it's good enough for me to keep one in my gym bag, office desk and handbag for the swipes here and there. I wear lipstick most days so I like to dab this on first to add a bit of moisture, and reapply during the day.
I wouldn't say it's the best lip hydration product I've ever used, but it's most certainly something I'm happy to continue purchasing and using.
Now this is my go to girls...Favourite shade baby lips electric OH ORANGE
1 goes on smooth
2 smells like peachy peachy perfume
3 illuminates your lips with a hint of colour and delectable shine
I bought the blue Baby Lips - I think it's called Hydrate, and has no flavour or colour, just purely for hydtrating your lips.
I have heard so much about these lip balms and thought, being the lip balm addict that I am, that I couldn't not have at least one in my collection.
I've always been a HUGE Labello fan, and this one in particular is very similar to the turquoise Labello (also the moisture and hydration one). However, I don't think that the Baby Lips lived up to the hype, and I found I had to keep on applying it too often to make it something that I'd repurchase. Labello is much better in quality.
I finally joined the Baby Lips bandwagon:) I picked up the Maybelline Baby Lips Intense Care on promotion at Clicks. The Baby Lips Intense Care lip balm is super moisturising on my lips and leaves them supple and soft. This balms feels very comfortable on the lips and it does not sting whatsoever.
I will admit that I totally understand all the fuss about it. All the lip balms are incredibly hydrating and moisturising. My favourites are definitely the tinted balms because I am such a lazy lipstick applier. All the balms have an amazing scent and they taste great too.
These retail for R24.95 at Maybelline stockists around the country. For that price it is no wonder people go crazy for these. The fun packaging is also a winner in my books
What i love about this product
1 goes on smooth and light
2 gorgeous feeling and smell ( kinda reminded me of the soft lips product)
3 catchy packaging , very funky and on trend
I have and will continue to say that these are THE best lip balms ever. I am always so shocked when I see a negative comment as I have awful lips in Winter and these have been a lifesaver. There is a range of 8 different types such as Hydrate, Moisturise, Intense Care and then an assortment of colours and they all work AMAZINGLY. I do not leave the house without my Hydrate Babylips!

I love this range, super funky and affordable. "Cherry me" is undoubtedly my favourite one and gives your lips a lovely pink tint. These lip balms also help restore your lip condition and after a few days you'll start to notice your lips feeling softer and healthier.

I will admit that I got caught up in the purchasing of Baby Lips when they first launched in South Africa, in fact I went out that day and made sure to buy the ones I wanted,
Cherry Me
Pink Punch and
Peach Kiss.
I don't regret purchasing them at all and in fact the Peach Kiss is my favorite one, it gives a moisturizing formula with a great nude color, Pink Punch is possibly my second favorite as it gives a Barbie Pink tint to your lips.
These are great, super hydrating, moisture boosting and definitely worth purchasing.
I have seen many varied reviews on this product since it came out in SA recently. I was one of the girls who went absolutely GAGA for them and they definitely lived up to their reputation in my opinion.
I have seen a few reviews where they have been rated as very mediocre but I can honestly say as someone with VERY dry and cracked lips that the blue and yellow tubes worked wonders on my lips.
I recently picked up a tube of Maybelline baby lips at Dischem, after hearing so many people raving about this product, I just had to get it. I am an absolute lip balm addict. I can not go without lip balm for more than a few hours.
Here's the lowdown on Baby Lips:
Price: +- R25 (about the same as Labello,a bit more expensive than Lip Ice)
There is a wide variety of these lip balms, in different shades, but when I got to Dischem they were all sold out except for the Baby Lips Intense Care, which is colourless. I decided to get it, because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
I have to say, I wasn't blown away. It's a really good product, and I can't find anything wrong with it, but I think after hearing everyone rave about these balms I was expecting more. Honestly, it is very standard. It's almost exactly the same as Labello lip balms, but I actually prefer Labello. With the Baby Lips I have to reapply very often, and I used up my entire tube within less than 3 weeks.
It did keep my lips in great condition, so it delivers on it's promise, it's a good Lip Balm, but it's nothing special :) I do want to try the tinted balms though, but as for repurchasing this specific balm, I wouldn't, I would rather just stick with my tried and trusted Labello.
I recently Received Maybelline Baby Lips from Beauty Bulletin and I immediately put my fiancé to task! And of course I was the monitor in charge of his lips for the long weekend! I was happy with the medium consistency of it, as well as the long durability. I too used it for the weekend, but of particular importance was my subject whom has dry lips and this was his chance to part take in the beauty community.
The lip balm lasted throughout our countless, no you take out the trash no you make breakfast Ophrah vs Manchester city conversations, and even a 90 minute long nap I took (due to my loss of the Ophrah vs man city argument) I am pleased to say not once did he wipe off the lip balm, the original has no color to it and no strong scents at all. Whenever he was getting dry he was first to shout babes where’s the baby lips ( lol) we ended up agreeing on keeping it in the living room table drawer.
Well now I have to purchase my own as he took the one we were sharing, his only issue with the lip balm is “eish but its written baby lips! And Maybelline” how masculine is that. I guess he will just have to step in the loo to get his baby lips on or do em in the car and hope no one notices.
As for me, I loved the durability as well as the consistency, however i was not pleased with the effectiveness, it just didn't penetrate deep enough, which ended up leaving my lips slightly dry (rubber lips hey)
This undoubtedly thee best lip balm I have ever used. I came across it online about a year ago, and could never find it in stores in Cape Town, then about four months ago I spotted it in the lip balm section (I'd been searching for it amongst the Maybelline make-up products!), and I tried the Cherry Me first. I absolutely loved this lip balm. I have literally never seen a bad review about it, and over time, I just became more and more obsessed. I now own almost every single one. The blue, is the Hydrate, and it's best used at night, being the most moisturizing one of the lot. It smells like Gummy Bears, and has quite a high gloss for a lip balm. The mint is the green tube, and that is great for day wear, too. It has a bit of a tingling sensation when you apply it to your lips, which I love. The Pink Punch, comes in the pink container, and smells incredible. It leaves a light pink sheen on the lips... The peach comes in the purple container, and I have yet to use that one, but it smells great. I have bought the yellow one, and have yet to try it out. I still need to find the grape flavour... called 'GrapeVine'... My advice to you, is that if you SEE this lip balm, buy it. It retails for around R25... and is totally worth it. These babies are almost always sold out. Grab them when you see them. Stock up on them because more often than not, you won't find them when you go looking. Bablylips is the best.
yeah im totally inlove with the babylips!! its like my current obsession! I bought 2 for me and also for a friend I had to share the good qualities!!:) patiently waiting for the dr rescue to come out in south Africa!!
As I have said before I just love love these baby lips from maybelline and I am so happy they have finally hit Dischem and Clicks! The price is just right and the hint of colour plus moisturizing is just perfect! Love having these in my handbag to apply all day no mirror needed.
Pink punch is a true baby pink colour and so moisturizing! My favourite recommend trying these out!
i love it soo much! the packaging is just tooo adorable! and the smoothness it give your lips-unexplainable!! its my current new obsession!and a must-have in my schoolbag! although there is just one thing that i would like to let you guys know is that the moisture does not last long! like 10min is the most! cother than that WELL DONE MAYBELLINE! and thanks for bringing it to SA!
I was so excited to see this at Dischem for only R22 which is cheaper than softlips! I love the nude colour it gives to my lips as well as the moisture. It was such a nice surprise finding these as all the overseas bloggers rave about them, I want to try all the colours - definitely re purchasing this!
So I bought myself the Maybelline baby lips to see what the fuss is all about.
These are my thoughts:
Pigmentation:These are not heavily-pigmented lip balms, they are more like traditional tinted lip balms that deliver's a sheer wash of color to your ips. Both Quenched and Peppermint are clear. Grape Vine is a purple-ish wine shade and Cherry Me, the one I was expecting to love the most, is a warm pink that doesn't quite look like the sheer cherry red I was hoping it would be. With the exception of Peach Kiss, which is shimmery/frosty and more on the opaque side, these balms are sheer and do not contain any shimmer.
Texture: These balms glide on the lips pretty effortlessly. The consistency is not heavy, thick or waxy; they are thinner balms that feel slick on the lips yet they do not feel greasy.
Flavor/fragrance: Large array of flavors to choose from to suit any person.
FINAL VERDICT: I don't think they are the most best balms out there but the colors are super funky and it does contain SPF20 which is great for summer. You can have one for every outfit!
