CULT CLASSIC: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
{2jtoolbox simpleslideshow id:35}
1930 was an iconic year: the Mickey Mouse comic strip made its first appearance and Elizabeth Arden developed her Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant. Just like Mickey Mouse, Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream became an instant classic that would be forever cemented in our hearts. Since then, the best-selling moisturiser has also found its way into the makeup bags of the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Natalie Portman.
Ms. Arden originally developed her Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant to soothe the legs of her thoroughbred horses, but she soon discovered that it worked just as well for humans when a client used it to treat her child’s skinned knee. In just eight hours, the injury was completely cleared up, and ‘Eight Hour Cream’ was born.
Containing a killer combo of skin-soothing petrolatum and anti-oxidant Vitamin E, this cult classic has countless beauty uses aside from being a deeply nourishing skin saver. Apply it as a lip or cuticle treatment, or as an after-sun remedy; or, dab a little over eyeshadow on the centre of the eyelid to open up eyes and give them a gorgeous, ethereal glow.
BB Beauties, have you used Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream? If so, what do you use it for?
