Firstly, thank you Beauty Bulletin for allowing me to test this product!
I'm not new to epilation. I've owned a Braun epilator for about three to four years now and it's served its purpose well enough. I've used one or two others which were such bad quality I've happily forgotten the brands of each. I use my trusty Braun on my legs and my underarms with pretty good results. But I had no idea I was settling until I used the Panasonic epilator.
The Panasonic epilator is so easy to use. It's small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand without hindering its effectiveness. That being said, the head of the Panasonic epilator is comparatively smaller, and while effective, could be even more so, especially when covering larger areas, if it was slightly wider.
The selling point of this product is its versatility -- a huge plus as far as epilators go. It has a wet, dry, AND foam function, a new addition to the usual wet/dry functionality of most epilators on the market. I valued this aspect immensely, as my Braun epilator can only be used on dry skin. The foam function makes use even easier, lubricating the skin for a smoother finish. For first time epilator users who might be put off by the pain of epilation, this is something I would recommend looking for when purchasing an epilator as the lubrication seemed to minimise the sting.
The Panasonic epilator has one speed setting while my Braun epilator has two speed settings. It is perhaps a minor qualm, but I find that the variance in speed settings offers the user the added choice of tailoring the hair removal to different parts of the body. I missed this in the Panasonic, particularly when it came to my underarms.
With any epilator, I find it is difficult to get the 100% smooth, hair-free finish of a leg wax. This is probably because the tweezers in the head can tug at the hair, breaking it at the surface instead of the root. This is particularly the case if your regrowth is fine and long. The Panasonic is no different, and while it has its downfalls, these are minor. I prefer this epilator to any one I've used before. If epilation is your thing, or if it is something you are hoping to try for the first time, I would definitely recommend the Panasonic.
