When hit with the inevitable winter flu that's currently going around in Cape Town, I think it's fair to say that one feels less than glamorous. Nothing that a splash of red on the worst of days can't cure! Queue Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel. I've been a fan of Revlon nail polishes as long as I can remember, not only because of the vast range of vibrant shades, but also the durability of this brand. Geared with a doctor's script as long as my arm, I was set to spend some time at the counter of Clicks Pharmacy in Cavendish Square. So I could seriously use a little pick-me-up (and I was in dire need as my previous bottle of Revlon was on the verge of finished!) This is a highly pigmented enamel and the colour of one layer actually reflects the colour of the product in the bottle. Don't you just hate it when you THINK you are buying a bright red colour, only to get a slightly pearly, translucent hint of the colour on your nails? I know I do. This enamel dries in a flash and leaves a lovely sheen. You can reapply another layer in minutes and your nails will like fabulous, with an almost post-manicure shine! And the colour Red Carpet is one of those reds that just screams fabulous! Yes, I did a ton of dishes and scrubbed the stove top, mopped floors, etc, and yes, the product did chip during the first two days, but not to such an extent that I had to remove again and reapply. The texture of the enamel is smooth enough and the brush compact enough to quickly fix a flaw. And at R99, 95 a pop for quality? Why, yes please!
