However, the actual product I feel, is lacking. It doesn't last as long as I would want and it loses it shape too quickly. I also feel that it almost moves down during wear which gets uncomfortable really quickly. The only upside is the applicator, the product is mediocre. ]]> Sun, 24 Feb 2019 09:42:58 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak - Best Tampons]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/38906/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/38906/ This has literally been the best thing to happen to tampons! First of all it comes in this super colorful box which just kind of takes your mind of the depressing forecast. I absolutely love the short and compact size of each tampon which make carrying them around or handling them discreet sooooo much easier than their predecessors which was almost as long as your arm hie hie hie hie. The round plastic tip makes it easy to insert and the product itself feels very comfortable. BUT there are one thing that kind of put me off Tampax and that is....... Tampax seems to grow in length as it absorbs more than in width which is kind of the opposite of what you want. Its as if a Tampax is stitched through the middle from the top to the bottom before its compacted and packed where as most other tampons just grow in width with no stitching even showing (so how its made I don't know). This might not be a problem for young girls , but for women who had babies and obviously need to use a plus size a tampon growing in width is just that much more reassuring that there will be no unexpected surprises! But other than that its stays a super amazing product ]]> Mon, 07 Nov 2016 13:59:14 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: tampax]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/31329/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/31329/ I used the super plus and its nice and it feels like I don't even have my period ]]> Mon, 07 Nov 2016 09:55:51 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: My funky intimate freind]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/25533/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/25533/ Thanks BB for letting me be part to review this great product, and a big thanks to Tampax for creating this product for us. I received my box and I was ecstatic and nervous at the same time. Since I I have a loop I get heavy flow during my second and third day of my periods and it's not easy to use something new because you don't know if it's going to disappoint you. I tried it anyway and it worked like a glove. I loved the packaging it's so colourful and it looks like a sweet so even if someone sees it won't be a problem. I love the fact that it fits my small cosmetic bag perfectly. The plastic cover is a cherry on the top and the round tip makes it easier to insert the tampon. As a 40 something woman, my period seems a bit erratic of late and to be very honest I'm typically not a huge fan of tampons, although having said that, they definitely have their place and serve their purpose, especially when one is active as it is a lot more comfortable and discreet than pads. I received the Super (green) and Regular (yellow) tampons in my Tampax Compak Multipack. The packaging certainly is very attractive - the boxes and wrappers come in funky colours - they almost look like boxes of sweets. I must say that at first I found the applicator process unfamiliar and a bit tricky but once you get the hang of it, it definitely makes application simpler - no mess, no fuss. However, whilst the Tampax tampons are generally comfortable once inserted, they do not seem to be as absorbent as other brands, which have a different, "moulded" bullet shape. Usually my flow is heaviest on the first and/or second day and I usually suffer from really bad cramps, and I find tampons, particularly on those days to be a little uncomfortable. As I believe that I am nearing menopause, it seems unlikely that I will be using tampons too much in the future but based on my experience, I would certainly recommend Tampax tampons. Thanks again to BB for sending me my sample pack! ]]> Wed, 19 Aug 2015 19:42:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: :)]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23758/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23758/ after all the ranting and raving I couldn't wait to get my hands on these :) I tried them and I loved the fact that it comes in a small cute package that looks like sweetie wrappers - but after trying it I must say I don't really like how it "absorbs" - if that's what you can call it , when removing these tampons they come out all squished and almost 'messy; - they cant compare to lillets in that department - the only thing I loved about this was the packaging - im going to stick to lillets and what I know - when using lillets I almost feel like they are less messy and 'stronger' - tampax is not my Fav brand ]]> Mon, 29 Jun 2015 09:54:29 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Oh No..]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23622/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23622/ I received a few tampons in the mail that Clicks sent me. I have never tried the applicator tampons so I was a bit curious to try these out. My first attempt as this ended badly, and I won't try the applicators again. The tampon it self was also not up to my standards. The string is shorter than the other tampons I am used to, and this scared me. (I have a silly fear of it getting stuck. lol) It also didn't keep it's 'form', it really just looks like home made piece of cotton on a string. Not for me. ]]> Thu, 18 Jun 2015 12:07:08 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampx Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23525/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/23525/ Firstly, my package arrived super fast. So loads of love to you girls over at BB. Secondly, I liked the packaging. Pretty and girly, making it a little more bearable having to go through periods every month. I have always loved using tampons. They are just so much more effective than pads. Tampax was the first ones I ever tried too, as those were the ones my mom used. But they had a problem then, and it is the same problem I have with them now. I do love the new compak version - they are way more discreet to carry around, especially if you are on your way to the loo and don't have a pocket. And the applicator defs makes it easier to use. So big thumbs up there. But my problems are the following: Way too much packaging for such a small thing. And you use so many, imagine how the papers and applicators pile up each month! They just don't expand the way other tampons do. Yes they are absorbent, but instead of expanding width ways to sit tightly inside you, these still expand length ways. Which means that every time I used one, it leaked. As opposed to other brands I've tried that expand width ways. It also didn't matter if I used the size I am supposed to, or a bigger one. And yes, I did change it every 4 or 5 hours as they say on the packaging. This meant that I couldn't sleep with them and had to use another brand at night. So in general, I was NOT happy with them. The reason I use tampons is to not have to worry about anything leaking or making me uncomfortable. So these are at the bottom of my list. ]]> Thu, 11 Jun 2015 11:16:17 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22695/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22695/ So, I've never really liked tampons very much. I didn't find them that comfortable at all and they are generally a lot more expensive than pads. I figured, why waste money one something I didn't get to choose that happens to me each month. I did, however understand, that sometimes tampons are just more convenient for certain outfits and occasions, so when I saw an opportunity to review the Tampax tampons, I was like, why not. Firstly, they arrived super fast, so shout-out to Beauty Bulletin and the courier company for crazy fast delivery. Secondly, the packaging of how each tampon is wrapped, cute! I seriously does look like sweets! My dad walked into my room and poked one, and was like, "are these sweets," to which I replied, "no dad, they're tampons." His face slightly paled and he left the room. Shame. I'm not one to be fooled by packaging, as it is usually a waste considering the world's environmental stance right now, but the packaging on the individual tampons is really great, because you can throw them in a jacket pocket, hand bag, pencil case, without it looking obvious that it is in fact a tampon. The actual applicator is a cool concept and all, but I'm honestly not convinced that it is necessary. It is a waste of plastic. Now I don't want to sound like a crazy environmentalist, but the applicator is thrown away immediately after use and that is it. Yes, I suppose it could be recycled, but how many people in South Africa actually recycle? I know the point of reviewing the product was not necessarily looking at materials used, but I think it is something we should consider. I've read the previous applicator was cardboard, is this not a better concept considering it can be recycled, or at least broken down naturally? Moving on to effectiveness of Tampax. The product itself worked wonderfully. Great absorption and relatively comfortable. So that was a hit. Would I recommend Tampax? Yes and no. Yes, because the product works well and the packaging is nice and discreet. No, because I'm just not sold on the idea of all the embodied energy involved in manufacturing plastic applicators. Everyone to their own opinion, however I have noticed that the beauty world is becoming more conscious of the environment, which is pretty cool for the future. ]]> Wed, 29 Apr 2015 20:22:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: No Stops in life]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22694/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22694/ Tampax gives you the ability to be yourself and not worrying about that time of the month. It has converted me. I didn't think of doing a review on it until hubby picked one up last night and asked me what sweet it was. I tried using tampons many years ago and gave up on them as never being comfy or easy to insert. With all the hype surrounding this I decided to give it a try and it did what no other could, it converted me. I can no longer use old fashioned pads after feeling the superior comfort of tampax compak. It is super easy to insert, not like those old huge cardboard ones that never went in or out smoothly. The pad itself absorbs better than anything I have ever used. It expands both lengthwise and widthwise. I think the leak guard skirt is absolutely genius as it keeps me feeling dry the entire day. This is the only tampon that has not given me thrush. Then there is the packaging, totally cute and when I am out in public very discreet to pop into my pocket when running to the ladies room. ]]> Tue, 28 Apr 2015 13:25:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22546/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22546/ Thank you for the opportunity to try this product. I’ve always considered Tampax to be a trusted household brand; however I have been using the competitor brand for many years now. So I had to give Tampax Compak a try. At first I struggled with the insertion due to my ignorance and not reading the leaflet and instructions first. The packaging (wrapper) is beautiful I love how it’s camouflaged into something pretty and sweetie like. We are definitely evolving. I’m not entirely sure if I like the plastic applicator. I was cautious at first but then learnt that it’s not that bad at all. Change can be a difficult thing for me. I have to agree that the absorbency of the tampons is great. No leaks and no mess, I was a bit apprehensive because of my heavy flow in the first 2 days of my period. There was no discomfort or irritation for duration of my period. The price is right, the product is great! I have absolutely no complaints about this product I can honestly recommend Tampax Compak to all the women out there. Unfortunately Mother Nature came a little late this month but finally I was able to put the tampons to the test. Firstly the package?? How adorable is that? There are two packets of tampons inside, regular-for a light to medium flow and super-For a medium to heavy flow. Now my period this month decided to be friendlier so I only used the regular tampons. At first I have to admit I was a bit scared so I read the leaflet found inside plenty times before inserting the tampon and...YES I’m now an official tampon user, tampax is so comfortable after a while I forgot I even have them on. I set an alarm to remind me of when I have to change it...I tend to forget easily. However when I go to sleep I used a sanitary towel as I sleep more than 8 hours sometimes. Haven’t tried Tampax?? With my old tampon I had to insert it with my finger. Most of the times I would not insert it correctly as the walls of my vigina swells a bit. This will result in pain and discomfort. I struggled to get the applicator to work, it was as if the pull out part was stuck and I had to go so far as to use my teeth to get it open. Using my teeth on a tampon is not my kind of fun.. Furthermore, the tampon did not "blow up" as much as my normal tampons does, it went in as a long and thin tampon and came out as such. I felt that I had to change it more often to prevent it from bleeding through. On the positive side though, it is way better than the old cardboard like applicators, and once I got the hang of it, it was easy to use, just not efficient enough for me. ]]> Wed, 08 Apr 2015 09:28:13 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Tampons- A woman`s Best Friend]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22318/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/22318/ In all my life since the beginning of my periods, I have only exposed myself to one brand of tampons and developed my trust. What a change! I've never used applicator tampons before, but these were simple and straight forward. As I have very heavy periods most products are not as effective as I would like, despite this I found them to be comfortable and are on par with other similar products. The funky packaging design and colours are a nice change to the obviousness of regular tampons. I was uneducated, and when I used it, I obviously inserted it incorrectly, so when sitting, walking or standing I was in enormeous pain. 2 years went by and a friend of mine insisted that when we went away that I use tampons. Firstly, upon receiving it, I was impressed at the neat and compact design of the box, and the packaging. It is discreet, and can fit in any small handbag and purse. When using it, the first time, I struggled because I was too lazy to read the instructions, so I didn't know that i had to pull out the applicator part - my laziness !! When I finally got it right, it was sooo easy to use. It was so comfortable, as I didn't feel it the duration that I had it in. So, when I am moody and miserable and suffering from lower abdominal cramps during the first week of each month, the last thing I need is my precious time in the loo to attend to my tampon-change to be interrupted by a lassie asking what I am doing. Firstly, I mostly use the regular-size tampons because my flow is not what it used to be (after three babies and birth-control) I am happy to report that at least I do not have to use the super-size tampons as regularly as before. The fact that the tampons are packaged as "cutely" as they are, means that I can now hide them in the discreet side-zip pocket of my handbag which my daughters will never discover. I always preferred applicator tampons because I could never walk around with a jar of Vaseline in order to insert my non-applicator tampons - no way! So, with the new design of these tampons, it is super discreet and I love that especially for work purposes when I need to use the loo, or even at home, because at least I don't have three enquiring minds asking what I have in my hand, and what is it used for?:) Life is just so much easier with the Tampax Compak because it takes the stress out of having my monthly period. I never have to worry about tampons rolling out of my bag because it is kept in the small zipped pocket of my handbag now, whereas before, I would have the long yellow or white wrapped tampons rolling around in my bag and then having to shove them up a long-sleeved top before running to the loo. Now, simple, easy and still the same amazing absorbency that has always come from Tampax. If you are a tampon user, you will love this product:) ]]> Mon, 16 Mar 2015 10:37:41 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21962/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21962/ Firstly a little about myself, I have a light to medium flow and only use applicator tampons. I have tried numerous of brands yet I always turn back to Lil-lets. After hearing about Tampax Compak review club I decided to give this new innovation a try, First impression I loved the actual size of the neatly wrapped applicator, was easy to secretly carry to the ladies room. Even though I have used applicators for a number of years I still read the instruction leaflet and inserted as stated. Within an hour or so I felt extremely uncomfortable as though the tampon had not inserted properly so decided to remove it, upon removing it was uncomfortable due to the tampon having met it’s full purpose as well as my personal opinion that the tampon expands long ways and not side ways made the removal even more so uncomfortable, and actually quite painful. So first experience was unsuccessful, so I decided to attempt again, and not long after I experienced the same uncomfortable feeling it was although the tampon was moving “down” after this I decided to go to the shop and purchase my regular Lil-lets. So for me personally I am not in favour of Tampax Compak and also prefer that the swelling outwards (Lil-lets) instead of longwards(Tampax) and strongly believe this for me is why Tampax does not win my vote. ]]> Mon, 16 Mar 2015 09:35:47 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Loved it!]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21959/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21959/ I was so excited when i got chosen to review the Tampx Compak & I recently got to try it out. You just want to sit at home be lazy, but not with Tampax Applicator Tampons really I am impressed. First of all I am a new user to the Tampons game so this is my time experiences using the applicator versions of any Tampon brand out there, and to my surprise I really enjoyed the Tampax compacts they are so discreet easy to hide away and not feel embarrassed when or if it falls out of your handbag. I know we have all had one of those moments a time or two. So to start off I received two versions of the Tampax: • Normal • Super As for size there was not much difference at all they almost looked exactly the same, I loved the packaging in the colours matching the type of flow you have. This makes it so easy to grab the right one of your bag. Overall I am very happy to have tried the Tampax Tampons they have truly changed me over and will continue to use Tampax from now on. I guess we all don't really look forward to the red robot however I always prepare myself for the worst. Like having my toiletry bag packed with all the necessary and Thanks to Beauty Bulletin I tried and tested the Tampax Compak Tampons :) The packaging was so cute when it arrived and as I opened up the pack there were two boxes, one green and the other yellow with flowers hmmmm! These tampons are very easy to use as the pack comes along with guide lines. The applicator makes the insertion so much easier as it simply glides in with a little push. The tampon will then be pushed out of the mold of the applicator which means its less messy and when its comfortably inserted all you have to do is remove the applicator :) and you done. SIMPLE and CLEAN !! Its small enough to fit in your purse or bag and great for travelling. It fits well and I feel confident wearing the Tampon when Im out and about. I thought the tampons were nicely wrapped but perhaps the colours would appeal more to teenagers though. Then I patiently waited for the arrival of aunty-flow. When my period started I was surprisingly happy as it was time to try something new. And so I did...nice soft tip, smoother glide but that was it. The actual tampons are for me underwhelming, the next few times I struggled to insert then and I find having to twist them for better insertion quiet redundant. I believe there is much room for improvement and consequently I'm not motivated to change my current brand of tampon. ]]> Tue, 10 Mar 2015 15:18:09 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Travel buddy ]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21852/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21852/ I travel to see my other half once a month! I found the packaging colourful and bright. The individual tampons and applicators where something new to me as I never used tampons with applicators before. I found the Tampax tampons to be efficient and effective in providing me with less things to worry about during that time of the month. I even wore a white dress whilst experiencing my monthlys and was not afraid of having to find a red spot after sitting anywhere. This is a great product and price wise it is very much in Line with other products that are similar. But one downfall that I think should be mentioned is that a box with a mix of Absorbent strengths should be sold as not always only one strength is used during the duration of a menstrual cycle and therefore having to buy different Absorbent strengths of Tampax tampons for the month will not be cost effective. So with this in mind the usual market of average earning woman from age 16-26 won't be able afford two to three boxes for variety of absorbent strengths every month. But over all, the product is great and provides value for money spent. it provided myself with great confidence once again, In wearing figure hugging or white clothes . Honestly, i am not happy about the design of the actual tampon, i feel it does not 'fill' as other tampons such a Lillets does, once it opens or absorbs the liquid, it becomes flatish and spreads. if you look at the design of the lillet- it is rounded and as it absorbs, it fills up growing in width of the circle offering better protection. Also i dont like the feeling of the Tampax tampon, it just feels of low quality- after all the effort that goes into the packaging- i think Tampax should rather focus on the actual tampon quality. i cant help but compare to the Lillets, i just feel the Tampax is sub-grade- it is not a well rounded and finished product as Lil'lets or Kotex. Thank you Beauty Bulletin for the opportunity to review the product- i hope Tampax developers pay attention to the reviews, with improvements to the overall quality and design of the actual tampon- they will have a great product. ]]> Fri, 06 Mar 2015 10:50:05 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21771/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21771/ I've actually never tried applicators before and have always been sceptical of it. The first thing I noticed (I've NEVER used applicator tampons before so everything was a first) was the size of the box compared to my normal brand of non applicator tampons...hmmm... let's wait for AF. Ok AF is here- open the box, grab one + instructions and off to the toilet I go (at work:/) Read the instructions- easy, clear and gives me an exact idea of what to do. 1...2...3... DONE. It was love at first AF! I could not feel it (some brands of tampons hurt me especially on the first day), process was super easy and much more hygienic (and here I thought my "normal" tampons were hygienic) than regular non applicator tampons with regards to insertion. The plastic applicator is a bit of a nuisance to throw away, but that's the problem with all applicator tampons. Just put a "tear here" thingy in the packet- would be much easier to open. The normal was great on the first day and the super was a bit too super for me- even at my heaviest so I will stick to regular. I will definitely be purchasing tampax compak and even other tampons from the tampax range- I just love it. Now I know what all the hype is about! My hiding spot for my tampon is my make up bag- I always have it with me :) ]]> Thu, 05 Mar 2015 11:19:30 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: loved it -Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21767/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21767/ I usually don't like applicator tampons. Like always, I read the pamphlet from cover to cover in the hope of gaining confidence, and when I opened to look at the packaging I was quite pleased to see how pretty they were individually wrapped. Pretty in pink. After some experimenting with my gift, I have a new outlook and a changed perception of tampons. Tampak have managed to create a product that is user friendly, so to speak, lol. I felt confident and fresh with my new found gift. Faith in tampons restored :-) I no longer dread "that time of the month" where i have to carry around old fashioned pads. I have a cute little pink wrapper that can easily be hidden in my bag, purse or pocket. Thanks so much for all convenience! ]]> Mon, 02 Mar 2015 14:51:40 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: The 'Bloody' Truth About Tampax Compak ;)]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21743/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21743/ First of all, thank you SO much BB for allowing me to review this product - Tampak Compak (Regular and Super mixed pack). As always, I am SO grateful to get new products to try and test :) For over 10 years I've been using Lil-lets tampons, without the applicator. But I was very excited to try something new. However, I will always be 100% honest in my reviews and I have to admit that I am not a fan of these tampons. As with everything though, there are pros and cons. Pros: - The packaging is pretty, discreet and I really liked the colours! - I love what the applicator is made of, it had a nice feel to it and looked appealing too (for what it is ;) ) - Ease of use (they were very easy to use and insert). Cons: - When I pulled it out, it was very long and "stringy". It had completely lost it's shape and looked quite frightening (I managed to find a picture which depicted this - see attached). - It didn't absorb as much as my current tampon does. It's because of the cons that I won't be buying these after I've used up this pack. I truly don't believe that they are more effective (or even equal to) my current brand. In conclusion: Tampak, you got it right with the packaging and applicator, but you need to work on your actual tampon quality before you win me over ;) ]]> Mon, 02 Mar 2015 11:59:44 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21722/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21722/ Being a new tampon user, my first time was a bit scary. Though I struggled opening the package covering the tampon, the packaging was very vibrant & summer(y). Insertion was made easier by the soft plastic cover of the applicator. The tampon itself was rather comfortable to use & I loved the fact that it has such a short string. I also love that it comes in a variety for light to strong flow. I will definitely recommend it to my girlfriends. Thank you BB & Tampax Compak. ]]> Fri, 27 Feb 2015 13:33:46 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compact]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21721/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21721/ These Tampax tampons are lovely! I received two boxes to test - normal and super. I loved the applicator - it was smooth and super easy to use. The wrappers are also great - I don't really care if someone sees a tampon in my bag, but many women feel awkward about that, and these wrappers avoid those awkward moments. It was also nice that you can get the wrapper off easily. With Lil-lets I sometimes struggle to unwrap the tampons. Insertion was very smooth and not uncomfortable at all. Removal was also easy and quick. I would definitely recommend this to other women. ]]> Fri, 27 Feb 2015 11:12:36 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compact with sweets look]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21719/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21719/ I recieved my pack a week before i was to have my periods. It was so simple and easy to use, I wasn't even scared to use it a second time. The tampon itself is so soft and comfortable, you don't even feel that discomfort of when you're nearing the end of your period. To be honest.... I love the idea of the Tampax Compak and I LOVE the applicator as it is soft, however, I don't the actual tampon itself. It does not insert deep enough and I had to either take it out and put it a new one or manually push it in. The tampon itself is also not as soft as the normal l (i.e. non applicator) tampons I have been using, so the pulling it out part was a bit unpleasant for me. It just does not feel at all like a non applicator tampon. It almost gave me the feeling that it was longer as well and did not absorb as much. Mostly though, the main problem for me was that it does not go in deep enough - which defeats the whole purpose of having an applicator. I love the idea of the cute wrapper and the soft plastic, however, I don't think I will be purchasing this in the future unless they change feel and adjust the applicator. But here my review goes - and why I will be sticking with non applicators. The first two I tried were disastrous.... I didn’t read the instructions as I was I a hurry and thought to myself... I am a smart girl... how hard can it be... Well turns out, reading the instructions is a very good idea... trust me! So this month I tried them again and decided that they are not bad at all. The tampon itself is not as rigid as non applicator ones which allows it to absorb from the moment its inserted. This is good for heavy flow! The wrapper is hygienic, colourful & cute, love it! Wont say it looks like a candy but it certainly doesn’t necessarily scream "look at me, I'm a tampon" My problem comes with the applicator itself... Its nice thin plastic so its not an uncomfortable process BUT Women’s bodies are not a one size fits all. I found that if I use the applicator as instructed the tampon does not get deposited deep enough. I then had to manually adjust. The applicator if not gripped far enough away from your body will pinch you.... not pleasant. So with me the issue is that the applicator is just too short. But it would probably work great for other ladies! I'll use the rest of the pack I got but doubt I would buy again. I am however glad I got the opportunity to test it because now I know ]]> Wed, 11 Feb 2015 10:54:27 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: It's back! :)]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21358/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21358/ This was launched a years ago in South Africa. Not long after that, they disappeared and I've been hunting for them ever since. I was thrilled when I received a box to try out! These tampons are so convenient to throw in your bag for just in case, and because the applicator is plastic, they're less likely to get damaged than the cardboard kind. My favourite aspect of these is that they're almost frictionless. They always insert smoothly... which is a definite plus for those days when your flow is less continuous. The only down side is that they're slightly more expensive than other cardboard applicator tampons, however they make up for the cost. Unless something better and more innovative comes onto the market, these are the tampons that I will continue buying. ]]> Wed, 11 Feb 2015 10:38:32 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax Compak]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21347/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21347/ OMW!!!!! The simplest and most comftable solution is what everyone looks for, whether it be sanitary pads or tampons as long as your life is not on hold. I must admit I am not a fan of tampons, yet there are things in life you can not always do with when your wearing a sanitary pad. Swimming, a dinner date or even laying on the beach are just a few. I am usually concealing the sanitary pad or tampon in my pocket or under my shirt if I am at work. Its usually not a very pretty site when you walking to the bathroom past the kitchen with either option in your hand. The wrapping of tampax made it so easy to conceal, it looks like a chocolate rather than a Tampon. Which was a thumbs up already for me. I usually find it a gruelling experience to put a tampon on and usually a painfull one. The applicator with tampax made it a safe and easy experience. Not only does it give it a soft cover, you can barely feel it. You can do all you want and never know its that time of the month. Its simple and easy to use not to mention life carries on with out you knowing it. I could productively do my job, run up and down when necessary, go to the gym and not have a care in the world. There was a period where I forgot I was wearing a tampon. I use to wear it every day and had a blissful time of the month. It is a definite on my shopping list every month. ]]> Wed, 11 Feb 2015 00:37:59 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: A forget me not]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21320/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21320/ I was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the lucky few to try out the new Tampax Compak. All that was missing was a laboratory coat and a suitcase, Lol! Well that's how I felt when reading the instructions and doing the practical side of things. I was a bit skeptical about the applicater, worried if I will get it right and what if the whole thing gets stuck inside. Now that would have been a mission failure. With the easy to read instructions I managed to put on my grown up girl panties on and went on with my mission. I felt like Dexter! I assumed my position with my knees bent and feet apart and in just a few seconds the mission was accomplished. The tampon was safely placed and it felt like nothing was in there. I had to check if the string was still in view a couple of times before doing my happy girl dance (you don't want to see that, Lol!) I think with the presence of the applicator it makes things seem like a top mission (if you know what I mean) even if you are used to putting on a normal tampon. But what makes the tampax compak tampons different is that it is more hygienic when applying it. When a mission is a success why not teach your girlfriend. Yes that's what I eventually had to do with my girlfriend who was a first time user of tampons. All I said was take a deep breath and relax and handed her the leaflet (nope I wasn't going to do it for her). She found it easier to stand with one leg on the toilet seat and with my motivation shouting "relax and take a few deep breaths" from the other side of the door. Well that was the best I could do:-) Seconds later she opened the door saying, "mission completed. " I asked her if she feels anything and she replied, "am I suppose to feel something? " Right then I knew that mission: apply tampon and mission code: Tampax Compak (TC) was successful! You should see how we throw each other the tampons with its easy and discreet packaging when one of us has run out. Totally making that time of the month easier:-) Sorry guys couldn't send you a video. It was a top secret mission:-))) ]]> Mon, 09 Feb 2015 16:48:23 +0000 <![CDATA[Tampax Compak: Tampax-compak making that time of the month Easier]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21252/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/tampax-compak/discussions/21252/ Hi guys So I gave the Tampax-compak a try and boy was I impressed. I gave up on using tampons with applicators very early on as they were big, bulky & very noticeable when you had to make a quick dash to the bathroom. These were a pleasant surprise - they were small enough to fit easily into my purse & then my hand when I needed to go use them. I really liked the plastic applicator - it went in easily with no discomfort & I loved the fact that it was hygienic & comfortable. The only part I wasn't happy with was when I had to remove it. It had gone long & I feared it would not all come out when I pulled! It seemed like some would be left behind as it had almost 'separated' inside me. This happened with every tampon I used. With the other tampons I use, they retain their shape & stay quite solid which makes me a lot more confident that they are holding all they can & they will not fall apart inside me. Overall though I was happy with this product, & will most probably give them another try later on in the year :) ]]> Wed, 04 Feb 2015 09:01:36 +0000
