Don’t deny it, we are all at fault when it comes to one of these hair misdemeanours. From over dyeing to buying one too many hair products here’s our list of strand ruining sins we’re all guilty of.
Envy
Thanks to social media platforms like Pinterest and Facebook, we’re inundated with pictures of gorgeous hairstyles, colours and cuts. Whether they be models or your best friends these great pics can leave us green with hair envy. Instead of sulking over your less than lust-worthy locks, use the internet to your advantage. It’s filled with great tutorials, like the ones on Beauty Bulletin, to inspire you to get Pinterest pretty hair.
Gluttony
Too much of something is never a good thing. That’s why those who over dye, chemically straighten, heat style and use hair extensions are all guilty of this sin. The problem with this hair care sin is that everyone can see you’re guilty of it. Repent and practice hair styling and colouring in moderation.
Greed
Again an influx of social media have opened our eyes to a plethora of wonderful hair products. Just when you think you’ve gotten hold of the best hair oil for your hair type, another comes along to tempt you. The result is a cupboard full of products you’ll probably never get round to using. The solution? Find what best suits your hair type and use the full regime for best results instead of swapping from product to product.
Lust
This sin is not too dissimilar from greed. Hair junkies are often guilty of buying the latest fad products even if they’re not suitable for their hair care needs. The trick here is to practice restraint when it comes to buying new products and stay true to the brands that work for you.
Pride
Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovering from damaged hair. Hair cut phobes know their hair is in serious need of a trim yet refuse to do anything about it. We say, get over yourself and give your strands a much needed lop off, your hair will thank you in the long run.
Sloth
Being lazy when it comes to your haircare routine is a big no no. Not having one at all is even worse. Using your partner or housemates shampoo in the shower may be simple but you’re actually doing your hair more harm than good. Do some research and speak to your hairdresser to find out more about your hair type and what products you should be using.
Wrath
Is your shampoo and conditioner leaving your hair looking flat? Or is that great hair oil now leaving your locks looking greasy? It’s all too common that colours, cuts and products that once worked wonders can turn out to do the opposite after a while. This can leave many of us feeling frustrated and fed up. Don’t despair, however, as the solution is simple. Go back to basics and adopt a simple haircare routine of a deep cleansing shampoo and conditioner to repair and revitalise your hair.
