#AvonDareToBe Ultra Colour Bold Lipstick - Rapid Rose
#Avon Big & Daring Volume Mascara
I'm so happy to review this Avon Lipstick ...This is one of the product that was in the goodie bag we got at the #AvonDareToBe event last month.
I love the colour however it was definitely to bright for me but have worn it to see if I would get use to the colour. It doesn't smudge, it give that beautiful shine to your lips.
I love the Mascara which added volume to my eyelashes and makes a difference and looks bold and daring.
Thank you
Great colour! Long lasting. My lips were coloured the complete day, that was amazing, however one downfall, it really dried out my lips and i couldnt wear any lipstick for about a week.
I'm not the type of girl to wear bright coloured lipstick. I always think 'it's too much' or 'it might look weird'. I'd feel more comfortable only dabbing the colour on my lips, blending it, removing a bit with a tissue, re-applying just a little bit and voila! All set to have just enough colour on my lips.
But then, along came Avon and Beauty Bulletin, daring me to be bold.
At first I was very hesitant with the Starburst Pink, it's very pink. I believe it's the same shade my favourite Barbie wore when I was a kid (so you can imagine how pink it must be...).
But, I opened the packaging with an open mind and as I removed the sleek black cap of the lipstick, the beautiful barbie pink colour peered at me, daring me to try it.
It applies great; it glides smoothly onto your lips and the lovely floral scent adds that extra feminine touch. It chaffed a little on my lower lips, but nothing a little Vaseline can’t fix ;)
This lipstick is perfect for spring when we are celebrating colour after a dark and grey winter and this bold hue really celebrates womanhood. Be proud of your pout and wear that bright colour with confidence.
The colour will last at least two hours, but then it's just as bright as when you applied it earlier. After a few coffees it will start to fade though (which is understandable).
As usual, Avon offers good quality at low prices, so you really strike a bargain with this lipstick.
I think the most difficult part of this lipstick is picking your favourite colour. With so many shades, Avon has given women everywhere a chance to be bold, to dare to stand out and own the spotlight with a proud pout. Barbie will be proud.
This lipstick is absolutely beautiful! The texture and smell is beyond amazing and it lasts really really long. BUT..... The color is way too dark! I'm not sure what ethnicity this May suit but it's a no go zone for me. It just stains my lips and makes it look like I have really dark lips naturally. I would totally recommend this beauty but most certainly in another shade! Xoxo
I Must admit ladies, I was blown away by the packaging when it arrived! Black and cerise! I thought - "Ok, - this is going to be fabulous." I suppose it was my own mistake in saying I prefered neutral shades. I have a tendency to be very careful about my make-up as they say the older you get, less is more. I rely on long black mascara and some lip definition having very pale skin.
Regarding mascara, I am particularly picky about the type of mascara I use, it must be ultra Black ( with a capital B) and a straight wand. I tried the curved wand after dipping it a few times and a) was not particularly good at using it and b) was diasppointed in the amount of volume and length achieved. There are a lot of good mascaras out there in the market that are relatively inexpensive and let me add the price of 'Big and Daring Mascara' at R 69.95 is cheap, but, it does not comply with its "big and daring" brand statement.
Onto the lipstick. Thankfully, it was in a shade I would wear anywhere as it was entitled "Ultra Colour Bold lipstick Avon Bare Impact". The price once again of R69.95 is inexpensive. I applied it and it was a smooth mouth matt surface. Staying power-very limited. I like the shade and will definately re-buy it but one definately requires the use of a lip liner in a similar taupe line colouring for definition. To be honest I don't think I was Daring in to least, to my own detriment. The brief was to go as OTT as possible while I opted for safe. And safe and boring is exactly what I got. It is also one of the main reasons I like to go into a shop and see make-up. Avon, has been know as a skin brand in the UK for years - sold in the concept of 'tupperware' parties - much like Annique, Justine and Avroy Shlain. As usual the skin products are good but the make -up, as an add on, leaves little to be desired. I was also put off by looking at repeat shades in the booklet being defined by a colour blob. So once your shade is out of fashion, you have to match it up to a line of colour. As always I appreciate the ability to try new products and I would like to thank Beauty Bulletin for the opportunity. In a similar light one should be as realistic in appraisal as possible.
Well firstly let me say - I'm not quite sure if BB reads our survey comments before sending out product - or if I said something that misguided them in their selection for Avon colours... I am almost sure I said I wear nude/ natural shades of lip GLOSS... So when I recieved 2 very bright red shades of lip STICK with a "true red" ultra glimmerstick lip liner, I was a little disappointed... To be fair this isn't Avon's fault - so I decided to try use the products in order to give a fair review... So let me separate the criteria into 1. actual product & 2. colour.
The product is a nice rich formula, your lips feel moisturised and soft, had it been a lighted natural colour I may have worn it.
The colours - WOW when my husband got home he was shocked and asked why I was messing around, was I going to a fancy dress party... The bright colour is not something I ever wear, I personally don't feel comfortable with it.
I also find that the colour stains your lips, maybe that's a good thing if you like the dark shades, but for me I couldn't wipe it off...
It also isn't colour stay - if you are going to wear such bright dark colours I think a colour stay formula would be better to avoid rubbing off & staining things.
Sorry Avon, this isn't for me... But If anyone loves a very bright red, I recommend these 2 colours for them...
