I was suffering with extremely dry and cracked lips I tried every thing people had suggested. I was desperate and even blogged about my pain. One day standing in the line I see the dichem lip product and at that point for the price I had nothing to loose. Yes I was desperate!
To my amazement the product worked and it was the cheapest product I had tried. I'm sold on this product so from now on I only carry the lip care from dischem
I had no intention of buying a lip product when I actually bought this, thanks to clever marketing strategies and my product junkie status I parted with a decent R 10 note and walked out with a good gloss. All I can say is this product is far from being a therapy but it does make a great gloss and an amazing base for really matte lipsticks. I use it before and after gym and occasionally before bed if I'm too lazy for the full exfoliation of my lips. Its a decent product at a very humble price but if you're looking for a dry/chapped lip treatment then this is not the one.
When you lose your lip balms a lot, you start getting frustrated by the prices.
I love this lip therapy's price. You can really splurge on these and not feel bad about it.
If you frequent Dis-Chem then there is no way you have not seen these babies. They place them right by the till as a trap, I'm convinced. I got myself one in Honey. I picked Honey because it is a humectant, meaning it's great for retaining moisture.
It fits nicely in my handbag, my purse, my gym bag, basically anywhere.
It's a clear oil like substance, looks a bit siliconey too. Ingredients include Mineril Oil, Petrolatum, Bees Wax, Shea Butter and Honey Extract.
I thought it would have a sweet scent, but it doesn't have a scent to me. It's moisturising, but not for long during the day. Application before bed results in me waking up with moist and soft lips, must be because I don't do much talking when I'm sleeping. It's also great to apply before doing my DIY lip exfoliating. It helps with the process.
If you're someone like me who has gone through numerous amounts of lip ices in your life and feel super guilty after spending R40 plus on a 'fancy' lip balm then this is for you.
A friend of mine recommended this product on her youtube channel and as I was about to pay for my items at Dischem I came across this gem. First of all it actually moisturizers your lips properly. There are a few lip balms that I've used before that actually dry out your lips causing you to use more or it and essentially buy more of it :( (Soft lips) this one is not like those. Secondly its NINE RAND AND NINTY FIVE CENTS! What even costs R9.00 these days? There is a lot of product in the tube and if you just so happen to lose it you won't be in debt.
I use the Aloe type, I think there is a Honey and also an Avocado type.
Definitely recommend!
I tried this a while back and I was not impressed. The texture was sticky like a gloss and felt very uncomfortable to wear. It also did not do much to help moisturize my lips.
This is not a horrible product but it did not do much for me. It was oil based which never works for me but I gave it a try. It feels moisturizing at first but after a few uses, my lips felt drier than before using it. There is no special smell to it and it doesn't feel good on the lips.
I don't have much to say about it as there are so many other products and brands out there that are just as affordable but works better.
I purchased this little gem at dischem and not only is it so affordable but it is effective as well.It comes in a really easy to use squeeze tube .Even though it is a lip balm , i feel that it can be used as gloss because it is quite shiny when applied to the lips.
I purchased this in those long queues that Dischem always has. It was only R9.99 and I thought I might as well get it. If you don't mind parting with R10 then you can waste it on this product. It's a sticky lip gloss that doesn't really moisturise.
I am always on the hunt for good lip bargains at reasonable prices. My lips get super dry in winter...... and summer so I need to keep these handy.
Dischem has a wide variety of lip care products at many prices; depending on what you need?
I find this lip balm is more of a lip calm than a lip therapy. It does help with the dry lips somehow but it does not last all day and it provides little protection in winter for my lips.
It's not really one of my loved products but it does the job
I totally feel Samantha on the impulse buy thing. I'm a sucker for lip balm. Plus anything with olive or aloe in it I simply must try.
Pros:
It made my lips feel fabulous and when you LOVE matte lipstick, especially the ones that make your lips feel drier than the Sahara Desert, it worked well as a base.
Considering that it's a squishy tube, it didn't leak. For some peculiar reason, all squishy bottles and tubes leak.
Cons: As a smoker or constant talker, you tend to get that nasty residue by the inside of your mouth at times and THIS product makes that happen. Especially when worn alone with no lippy.
With lippy, it's great.
Overall: I'll give it a 6/10 to be kind.
Nobody likes that nasty white residue.
tried this by fluke only because of the packaging, as it was in the old lip therapy (now off the market which i swore by)
1 product glided on easily
2 not to thick
3 worth the buy
4 smell was not too bad
5 not a lip therapy though :-(
i have just started using this product.i am trying out ALOe .i was impressed by the 1st application i fell inlove.its been 3 days but im starting to get cracked lips its more like im reacting to it.Should i give it more time??
