Essence single eyeshadows are super affordable - making them great for anyone on a budget. Despite this, the quality between the different finishes differs.
I have a light, metallic off-white shadow with yellow-gold undertones. It's chalky and powdery. It also clumps, making it difficult to apply. There is a bit of fallout.
I also own a limited edition shimmer purple shade. It's not very pigmented but the colour can be built up. It's smooth and applies well. There is some fallout.
The third shade I own is a semi-matte black. It lacks pigmentation - however, I'm fine with this as I prefer to build up darker shades. It's also powdery.
I own about 4 different colours from this range, one metallic, one matte and 2 shimmers
I love how affordable they are and the range of colours available definitely is a huge plus. But I feel like they aren't very pigmented and in order to get the colour you desire you need to use a lot of product which isn't ideal especially when considering the amount of fallout. I'd definitely get more of these simply due to their affordability and range.
I don't think Ill ever NOT give a Essence product a 5 out of 5 for price cause is just no product with such a good quality that can beat their prices!
All the shades are very creamy and apply like a dream with almost no fall-out. I did find that although the light colors are very creamy and pigmented and shimmery and the darker colors aren't that pigmented. But since Essence are very build-able after a second round its yet another shade of greatness!
The Essence Eyeshadows are great for every day eyeshadow looks.
It has a solid look and easily sweeps across the top lid, as well as warm up the crease.
I keep the berry colour on me at all times, and I enjoy using it as a blender for black smokey eye or as a flat colour for a monochromatic look. I will definitely be expanding my collection of colours in this range.
I would suggest that people who love essence, invest in the eyeshadow brushes- both the blender and flat brush. It completes the entire experience
These Essence single eyeshadows are a bit hit or miss. The colours are beautiful, but some swatch out really well, and apply easily, while others just lack pigmentation and are quite powdery.
Even though the price is super cheap, try out the tester first in store before buying, as even if it's only around R30, you don't want to be just throwing that down the drain!
These are really cheap eyeshadows that really give your money's worth.
The texture is soft not powdery at all . There is little to no fall out.
The application is smooth and easy and it's a very blendable eyeshadow bearing in mind to use a light hand when needing to blend as these shadows are very pigmented.
The shadow is long lasting on its own and even longer when used with a primer.
I can't believe how cheap these eyeshadows are! The amazing range of colours make it hard to choose - they're definately young and fun! I love the simple packaging! I must say that these eyeshadows did not last very long on me, but they are awesome for blending and experimenting with different looks! Awesome to put in christmas crackers!!!
